for sharing some of my thoughts on Milan design week and the increasing presence of fashion brands. We all know that fashion has been on the decline for several quarters now. While fashion is a cyclical industry and will undoubtedly rebound, I’m not entirely confident that we’ll see the same growth cycle we saw in the late 2010’s because China was a huge driver of that growth and there currently isn’t an emerging market with parallel patterns. If you’d like to disagree with me, I welcome your thoughts in the comments section of this newsletter.That being said, if you’ve been a subscriber for a while, you’ll know that I think fashion tech is gaining traction due to several macro tailwinds: luxury brand fatigue, price inflation (to the point where it’s honestly tacky), adoption of second hand shopping, etc. Friend of The Stanza Phoebe Gates has just launched Phia, which comes as both a Chrome extension and iOs app, and helps you compare prices while shopping online. It also includes secondhand shopping sites with your searches! If you end up using Phia, I’d love to know your thoughts.

I’ve been thinking a lot about our generation’s values around time and location freedom and how that shapes our attitudes towards home buying.
