There's a Sant Ambroeus cafe in the new Alaia store in Paris
The ultimate fashion x hospitality match
Hello and happy Friday everyone. Milan men’s fashion week just happened, but you could have said it wasn’t and I’d believe you. The enthusiasm and general vibe of the city wasn’t where it was this time last year, with Gucci opting to show both mens’ and womens’ in February instead of bifurcating shows. I think the overall quietness also speaks to the current state of the fashion industry. If you’re in Paris now, let me know how it is.
This week I published an interview with my friend Walter D’Aprile, co-founder of nss magazine, the biggest independent fashion & culture media platform in Italy. Given Walter is privy to conversations with Italian industry leaders, I wanted to get his insider take on why fashion is in its current state, and how the industry can evolve. I’ve removed the paywall on this interview - listen here.
As mentioned in last week’s email, the podcast is coming back this year in a big way, thanks to Peoplevine.
Peoplevine is the best-in-class CRM provider for hospitality businesses that need to know their guests and members well in order to execute the best service. My club in Milan uses Peoplevine, and I love that any of the front desk staff will recognize me when I walk in because of my profile on Peoplevine’s CRM. They also take note of how I like my martinis - extra dirty, with lots of olive juice.
The podcast will be a series of 10 episodes featuring some of the best players in hospitality, and will be published on Spotify, Apple, and Google podcasts.
