Quit your job, move to Italy, develop a boutique hotel...
First issue of Investment Committee is now live.
Hi everyone - Apologies for sending this on Saturday morning! It’s a long one, so I hope you all enjoy reading and get something out of it.
Paris fashion week actually looks great and is seemingly restoring industry sentiment. In particular, Haider Ackerman’s debut at Tom Ford and Sarah Burton’s debut at Givenchy, Alaia, and Schiaparelli RTW have stood out to me. I already own several pieces with the cinched waist and broad shoulder tailoring that will apparently be trending this fall, so I’m happy…
This week is the first issue of “Investment Committee”, a column in which I share (hopefully constructive) feedback on the pitch decks you guys send me. If you’ve ever raised money before, you’ll know the feeling of sending out your pitch deck and getting ghosted after taking meetings. For this column, I hope to share some honest feedback that investors would rather avoid spending the time to tell you, along with suggestions to maximize your chances of successfully raising capital.
Submit yours here.
I’m also testing a new format for the Friday weekly’s, with the content mostly being the Investment Committee column, the usual relevant deal news, and only the top 5 weekly curation bullet points. I’m also considering scrapping the typical Friday format in lieu of an Investment Committee column every Friday. That way, I can post my weekly bullets in a more timely fashion on Instagram. What would be most helpful to you? If you have any thoughts, reply to this email or share in the comments section on Substack.
