Happy Friday everyone.

Several of you felt compelled to respond to last week’s newsletter, in which I shared some reflections on the patterns of highly successful creative people. It made me think that I should share more personal musings, and one I had this week was about why the people closest to you tend to be the least supportive of your lofty goals in life.

It’s simple to understand - the distance between where you’re aiming to be and where you start is a big enough delta to bring out the insecurities of anyone who hasn’t made much progress beyond their starting point, or anyone who feels like they don’t have the courage, discipline, and raw horse power to get to where they want to go.

And so, my antidote is equally simple - keep your goals to yourself and a small circle of aligned people. Never take any snide comments personally because it’s not about you.

In today’s newsletter: flurry of summer deals closing in time for a beach holiday, a London restaurant group is getting into overnight stays, branded residences in the Italian Alps, fashion beach clubs - cringe or fun?, much more…

If you’ve been trying to finagle a reservation at Jondal in Ibiza this summer, fret no longer. Avoid the annoying task of asking for favors or paying sketchy promoters a cash fee for a res. This is why I find Dorsia useful — you can book a table or sunbeds for a €300 minimum spend per person, which is what you’ll spend anyways (or more). I’ve partnered with Dorsia again to get my readers a 1 month free trial (code: thestanza).

Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback from this week’s podcast episode with Dasha Zhukova, founder of art & design multifamily brand Ray. It makes me so happy to hear from fellow real estate nerds. For those of you who are interested in learning about the intersection of art and the built environment, click here for the interview.

Pascal Moehlmann is a Zurich-based painter I’ve been eyeing for a while.
